About This Competition

 

Coral Overview

Acropora is a genus of small polyp stony coral. Some of its species are known as table coral, elkhorn coral, and staghorn coral. Over 149 species are described. Acropora species are some of the major reef corals responsible for building the immense calcium carbonate substructure that supports the thin living skin of a reef.

Colour/Variant: Ultra Premium (colour can change due to lighting-phosphates-nitrate levels)

Approx. Size: Varying

Lighting (PAR): HIGH 150-300)

Feeding: 1-2 Times per week (Meaty foods/Reef roids)

Waterflow: Moderate – High

Placement: Middle to Top

Temperament: Very sensitive to light, phosphates and nitrate

Recommended Water Parameters: 24-27 °C, dKH 8-12, pH 8.1-8.4, sg 1.023-1.025, Calc 400-450

Care Level: Difficult, a good Knowledge of proper reef keeping is advised
